We're all about growing great fruit in a team environment. Our pack house walls are covered in happy memories from previous years and letters from all over the world about how great our strawberries taste.

Peter & Karen Bower
Inchcolm Farm owners, Peter and Karen

Our Story

Owned and run by husband and wife, Peter and Karen. Inchcolm Farms is the result of years apart while Peter worked as a truck driver and Karen in a bank. They're a fantastic partnership with Peter out in the field and Karen looking after the pack house.

Whilst Peter is 'the boss', Karen runs a very smooth operation in the pack house. Ensuring the workers have everything they need in front of them, so they can focus on the job at hand. There's a team uniform and you can even take the hat as a memento when you leave!

Aiming to treat everyone fairly and make their time at Inchcolm as pleasant as possible. Peter and Karen work hard to create an open environment, where workers feel comfortable to express any issues or come to them with any problems.

What is it like to work with us?

I have only recently started back at Peter and Karen’s strawberry farm after a long break.
What I love about strawberry farm work is the outdoors, fresh air and nature. When working in the shed it is always organised and clean. Peter and Karen are both very helpful, listen to me if I have a problem, and where possible my problems solved. The work is not hard, but sometimes very busy in the peak of the season, which I enjoy.

I have worked for Inchcolm Farms since "1999", having some time off to raise my son, who now also works on the farm. Since working at Inchcolm Farms I have been taught different aspects of Strawberry farming. My employer's have been kind, respectful, patient and informative throughout my years of learning.

1.The couple who owns the farm is so nice and kind
They are communicate us regard of nationality and always listen to every worker's
voice.
2. Not too long work time, low impact
Different from the big farm we don't work to long time of the day, we can enjoy and
work healthy although working consecutive days especially high season.
3. We can work like a family regard of nationality, age, both senior and new
worker! We really love and happy to work this farm!

We’re strong believers in not over doing it each day. No one goes home after dark, managing fatigue and safety are really important to Peter. Someone who is well rested is a better, safer and happier worker.

Pickers start around 6-6:30pm and go until 2pm
Packers start about 9-10am and go until – 4-5pm.
If there is left over fruit the packers can come in earlier the next day.

We don’t have accomodation on site but we recommend sharing with other workers in a local share house.

You will need your own transport or to share a lift with someone

Break area on site with shade and toilets on site

We pick strawberries May – October.

Our staff have often moved to other farms once our harvest has finished.
